POV: You’re running on empty, bedtime is finally in sight, and then you check your pump… 🕒😭
Up since 4:30 AM with the kids, laundry finally finished, house quiet. It was 12:30 AM and I was this close to crawling into bed. 😴

Then came the ultimate plot twist. I thought I had a whole day left on my CGM sensor. Nope. 45 minutes. 🫠
Instead of sleeping, my night turned into charging the transmitter, changing the sensor, and sitting through that dreaded 2-hour warm-up. A 2.5-hour middle-of-the-night ordeal when all I wanted was to close my eyes.

Some days, the diabetes burnout hits different. I’m frustrated with the math, frustrated with the technology, and honestly, just frustrated with having diabetes. It’s an exhausting, 24/7 job that doesn’t care how tired you are.

In this summer heat, I prefer to cool them down and reset their sensory systems from the inside out! 🍦👇

My kids are absolutely popsicle-obsessed. So when my son asked to make some this morning using the fruit on our counter, we leveled them up with a game-changer we discovered while traveling last summer: electrolytes. It makes a massive difference in keeping them hydrated and regulated on hot days.

Today’s 2-Layer Summer Survival Mix:

🍒 Layer 1: Cherries blended with a splash of water and a touch of honey. (Pro-tip: I strained the peels because #2 always ask to take the "leaves" out! 🍃😂). Freeze for 1 hour.

🍇 Layer 2: Our favorite grape electrolyte mix blended with fresh green grapes and another touch of honey.

I even made a mini version for my 19-month-old, and it was a total hit across the board. Delicious, deeply hydrating, and 100% toddler-approved.

Surprise guest this morning! 🦜 I opened my balcony door in Nahariya and found this little guy waiting for me. We were worried he was injured, but it turns out he was just a lost baby parrot who took a wrong turn.

Despite my best efforts with makeshift ladders and stools to help him fly home, he just couldn't make it over the ledge—even with his parents calling out to him nearby! A huge thank you to the local Nahariya officials who came out and handled him so gently. It’s such a relief to know he’s back where he belongs with his family. Nature is amazing! 🌿✨

A collaborative kitchen operation went down today. My 19-month-old decided the kitchen island was her canvas. But honestly? Shoutout to my 3-year-old who saw the Magic Eraser and decided today was the day he launches his industrial cleaning career, proudly proclaiming he is "cleaning all of it!" Meanwhile, my 5-year-old is in the zone listening to The Beatles, completely unfazed by the madness. 🎸🎨🧼

We are deep in the trenches of life with toddlers, but at least the entertainment is free. Sending love to all the parents out there scrubbing crayon off walls today. ❤️

The other day we took the Haifa cable car from the train station all the way up to the top of Mount Carmel and back down. If you want some of the best panoramic views of the bay, this is a 10/10 must-do!

One of my favorite things about life in Israel is discovering spots like this. Plus, Haifa is known for being one of the most wonderfully diverse, welcoming, and multicultural cities in the country, which makes exploring it even more special.
